About Us

The First Amendment Law Committee is the first Bar Committee to focus exclusively on the constitutional rights to Free Speech, Free Expression, Free Association, Free Assembly, Free Press and the Right to Privacy. Our mission is to serve the public interest by enhancing awareness, by both the public and the members of the Bar, of the rights and liberties granted by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and the parallel provisions of the Florida Constitution.

Founded in 1997 by Lawrence G. Walters, Esq., the members of the First Amendment Law Committee have been active in educating the public and the Bar about critical First Amendment issues.
